Climate Symposium outcomes carry into crucial year

The Science Programme Committee of the Climate Symposium identified the main findings and recommendations of the Climate Symposium, which have been published on the Climate Symposium website.  These findings are split into 3 themes: (i) Research and Process Understanding, (ii) Observations and (iii) Coordination and Integration of Observations. The Climate Symposium 2014 outcomes will be also published in the Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society.

The findings and recommendations will be presented later in the year at the scientific conference “Our Common Future under Climate Change”, which will take place from 7-10 July 2015 at UNESCO, Paris, France.  The conference is taking place ahead of the UNFCCC COP-21 which will be held at the end of 2015, a year which is shaping up to be a year of “climate challenges”.   The findings from the Climate Symposium will feed into the discussions at both of these important events.
